Ferrari buyers are getting younger (Photo: Ferrari)
A Ferrari costs a lot of money, obviously. Therefore, it was expected that the main buyers of vehicles from the Italian automaker would be older people with established careers.
However, according to Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, “40 percent of new customers [of Ferrari] are under 40 years old,” he said in an interview with CNBC.
This percentage represents a 10% increase from 2023, when Ferrari buyers under 40 made up only 30% of the Italian manufacturer’s clientele. “I don’t know about other brands, but for us, it’s an achievement due to our team,” Vigna continued.
These numbers are surprising, given the brand’s historical exclusivity. In 2024 alone, approximately 81 percent of new Ferraris sold were to existing customers, according to Fortune magazine.
Moreover, 48 percent of these buyers already owned more than one Ferrari. So, even though the average age is decreasing, there aren’t many new buyers entering.
